Upload a gift-level CSV on the left, check the assumptions, and click Calculate scores to score and tier every donor.
How the scoring works
1. Roll up per donor. Every donor's raw gifts are collapsed into a few numbers: most recent gift date (all-time), gift count in the lookback window, and total giving in the lookback window — plus event attendance count in the window, if you uploaded that file.
2. Score each factor 1–5. Recency, Frequency, Monetary, and (if enabled) Events are each converted to a 1–5 score using the band tables in Assumptions, so they're all on the same scale.
3. Blend into one weighted score. Weighted Score = Σ (factor score × factor weight) across whichever factors are enabled, scaled to 0–100. Disabled or unweighted factors (like Events, before you upload data) simply don't contribute.
4. Assign tier & owner. The weighted score is checked against the Tier Cutoffs table, highest cutoff first, to assign a tier and an owner.
Recency uses full history, not the window. A donor's most recent gift date is never limited by the lookback window, so a long-lapsed donor still shows their true last gift date instead of looking like they never gave at all.
Event attendance is entirely optional. It's a second CSV, joined to your gift data by donor name. A donor with no matching rows in that file simply scores a 0 on this factor — they aren't excluded from results. Turn it off any time by unchecking its weight above.
