Campaign Tracking

UTM Link Builder

Build tracked links for any donation form or campaign landing page — then log them here so nothing gets lost or duplicated.

Download Excel version ↓ Same tool, same formulas — no browser required.

01Campaign details

No spaces. If your donation platform uses named forms or campaigns, match its identifier exactly.
Human-readable name. Keep consistent with the campaign name over time.
Add your own terms — they're saved in this browser and stick around for next time.
Only relevant when source is "text."
Position in the send sequence for this campaign/source (e.g. the 2nd email in the series).

02Landing page

The full base URL of your donation form or landing page. Include any existing query parameters your platform needs (e.g. ?form=CampaignName) — UTM parameters will be appended correctly either way.
By default, content is built as campaign_source+sendnumber (e.g. GenOps26Main_website1). Fill this in only if you need something custom — it should match the send name in your email or SMS platform.

The Ledger

Every link you've built in this browser, kept in order. Export to CSV any time to back it up or bring it into your own tracking spreadsheet.

Measuring performance

How to actually track what these links raise.

01 — GA4

Traffic acquisition by campaign

Since GA4 is already installed, UTM parameters are picked up automatically. Use Reports → Acquisition → Traffic acquisition, and add utm_campaign / utm_source / utm_medium as secondary dimensions to see sessions and conversions per link.

02 — Your donation platform

Join revenue to campaign

If your donation platform lets you name or tag campaigns/forms, keep that name identical to utm_campaign. That shared name is what lets you join your platform's revenue export to GA4 sessions — giving you revenue per link, not just clicks.

03 — The Ledger

One log, one source of truth

Export this ledger to CSV regularly and keep it alongside your donation platform and GA4 exports. That running log becomes the master list you cross-reference when reporting results.
